Community

We are a community school and take our role in this respect very seriously. Our aim is to be a place of learning and enjoyment not only for our students but for the wider community as well.  We are open for business from 8.00 in the morning through to 9.30 at night. Many national and local groups and organisations use our outstanding facilities.  For example the University of Glamorgan base their Welsh for Adults provision here, and many local sporting clubs use our gym and barn facilities. We run tea dances for the elderly and organise  many courses from the school during the holiday periods.

The school houses a community room which is home to E3, 5×60, On Track, and other specialist community workers. We pride ourselves on these links, and were instrumental in developing the Mountain Ash Partnership which ensures that all local organisations working with the young people in this area are all working together constructively.

We are therefore the hub of the local community and actively seek new ways of developing this aspect. If you have ideas or would like to explore ways of utilising our facilities please do not hesitate to contact the school.
