CiDA & DiDA
The department moved away from the traditional GCSE ICT in 2008, we now offer the students a choice of either DiDA (Diploma in Digital Applications) or CiDA (Certificate in Digital Applications). The DiDA qualification consists of four modules (SPB’s) each module that is completed is the equivalent of 1 GCSE, if a student complete all four units then they achieve the equivalent of 4 GCSE’s. This qualification is offered in a BTEC option choice. The CiDA qualification is offered in the 1 GCSE option and the vast majority of students achieve 2 GCSE’s equivalent qualification. The is no examination in this subject, assessment is continuous on the completion of each unit.
Student can achieve a Pass, Merit, Credit or Distinction in this qualification.

As the students work is assessed via coursework the whole course is focussed around the successful completion of each section of an SBP.
How can parents best support their children.
Parents can help their child to achieve if they ensure good attendance and check that they are meeting the deadlines provided by the department.
