BTEC Workskills
The WorkSkills course is used to equip students with the skills to gain and retain a job in challenging times.
Now, more than ever, individuals wishing to progress in the workplace, in education and in training, need to demonstrate flexible and wide-ranging skills.
WorkSkills builds on the ABC of employability – Attitude, Behaviour and Communication – to develop the skills that employers are looking for and to give learners an edge in a competitive climate.
In Years 10 and 11 students work towards the Certificate level during their registration periods and PSE lessons. This course is equivalent to 1 GCSE grade B/C.

- Self Assessment
- Communicating Solutions to others
- Managing Your Health at Work
- Preparing for Work Placement
- Learning from Work Placement
- Preparing for an Interview
- Interview Skills
Assignments might require a written piece of work, a presentation or participation in an activity.
